If your doctor determines that you need specialty care, you will be referred to a Woodland Clinic specialist. Services not available within the Woodland Clinic require prior authorization through the Utilization Management (UM) Department. Your doctor’s office will coordinate this authorization process. If you have questions regarding the authorization process or status of a referral, you may call the UM Department at (530)662-3961, ext. 4361 Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. After hours, you may leave a voicemail and staff will respond the next business day.
Authorization decisions are based on your insurance benefit and whether services requested are medically appropriate and do not result in financial compensation for staff involved in the decisions.
